My retail experience and my evenings on the dance floor gave me a different perspective. Three observations that dictate how I design and why your outfits will never be left hanging in the wardrobe again.
1. Looks aren't enough if they aren't comfortable.
The market designs erotic lingerie for the eyes; arousing, beautiful to behold. But comfort is just as important as looks. A set that looks good but doesn't feel right won't give you confidence.
Certainly not on an evening when you're more naked than usual. More aware of your body, of how you look. On such an evening, self-consciousness is the last thing you want to feel.
If it's not comfortable, you're preoccupied with your outfit. Not with the night. The outfit should fade into the background. So you can be fully present. With the music. With each other. In the night. That starts with the fit.
2. Different sizes do not solve the problem
A leather outfit is an investment. One that deserves to stay looking good for years. But what if your body is just a little bit different in a while?
Size charts don't solve your fit problem. They give you a size for now, not confidence for later. And that's where I think things go wrong.
Your body changes. What fits perfectly today might fit a little differently in a while. And on the night itself, your body sometimes asks for something slightly different than it does at home in front of the mirror. A fixed size doesn't take that into account.
Adjustability, yes. Loosening or tightening by one notch gives you that certainty, on the evening itself and over the years. That starts with a fit that moves with you.
3. Buying online should feel like trust
Online shopping always starts with that one question: What size do I need? Does this brand run large or small? Hesitating, you order two sizes. Just to be sure.
The package arrives. You rip it open. It fits, spinning in front of the mirror. Those tighter ones, or the other ones? Which choice will still be good in a while? You choose, hesitantly.
The decision has been made. But you're not there yet. Request a returns label, pack it up, post office. The hassle that comes with it, but it ruins the shopping experience.
That's not what I wanted. When I started VoyeurX, I knew that ordering online should be a pleasure, an experience you can rely on. Without hassle or uncertainty about sizing. Simply order and know that it's right. That starts with trust in the fit.
